Reminder, there is no school next Monday November 12th.
Blue Oak students were so wonderfully well behaved during the teachers’ Halloween skit last week. ALL the teachers were up front and it was a pleasure to see the maturity and respect demonstrated by students during this assembly. Thank you to the eighth grade students for helping with the younger students and for the parents who joined us.

If you would like your child to participate in an afterschool program, please contact Beth in the front office at 879-7483 and she can help you with location and contact information for the adult in charge of the program. If your child attends CARD, please speak directly with CARD staff.
Our visiting teacher mentor, Barbara Warren, is graciously open to staying with a family in our community when she visits us from the Sacramento area. This enables us to use the money that we would have to spend on lodging for more training resources for our teachers. Thank you to teacher Barbara Roberts and parents Joc Clark and Katie Zukoski for providing housing in the past. This continues to be an area of need and if you can provide housing, please contact Beth in the front office at 879-7483.
We now have a basketball hoop set up on our play yard. The students are really enjoying this activity and managing conflict well in the games they play. If you have a basketball hoop to donate, we would love to have a second one.
We will be holding our Thankfulness Celebration on Friday, November 16th. Students are encouraged to bring nonperishable food donations to school prior to this event. Collected food will be given to the Chico based Jesus Center. During this celebration each class will share their meal verse with the school. I find this to be one of the most beautiful events you will experience at our school and parents are encouraged to come listen.
Recommended nonperishable donation items include: canned vegetables, canned fruit, tomato products, pasta noodles, chili, peanut butter, jam, syrup, ketchup, tuna, soup, and coffee.
