Parent Guild Committees & Coordinators 2011-2012
Fundraising Committee
This committee facilitates and organizes all fundraising events for the Parent Guild. The chairperson maintains the master schedule of all the various fundraising activities & acts as the main liaison between parents, admin., and faculty for all fundraising activities.
- Assists with school pictures twice a year
- Holds regular monthly committee meetings and reports back to the Parent Council
- Maintains and updates all master copies of any current fundraising forms & ensures that PC Secretary has a copy of each on file
- Maintains and updates the Fundraising binder, which provides records and outlines for each fundraising event

Green Committee
This committee strives to facilitate environmentally sound practices of the day to day operations of the school and at all school events & activities.
- Maintains the waste and recycling program
- Maintains the Lost & Found
- Facilitates with school events & festivals, so that they are in accordance with our “green” policies
- Maintains and updates the IPM program binder
- Helps ensure efficient resource use and conservation practices at Blue Oak
- Maintains and updates the Green binder, which provides information on our “green” policies and procedures

Hospitality Committee
This committee aims to provide thoughtful gestures of kindness & care, helping to ensure that certain ongoing school functions run smoothly and efficiently.
- Facilitates and oversees the monthly Faculty Lunches throughout the school year
- Provides support to the Rest and Recovery room, the front office & entry area, to ensure that they are clean, functional and presentable, at all times
- Maintains the “Events Board” in the front office with a current monthly calendar of school-wide events
- Provides assistance with the following school events: Public School Tours, All School Meetings, Parent Enrichment evenings, etc. - assisting with set up of chairs, efreshments, clean up, etc.
- Maintains and updates the Hospitality binder, which documents any necessary records

Elections Committee
This person oversees school wide elections for the Parent Council and Charter Council, as laid out in the bylaws.
- Coordinates the election process for Charter Council Board positions
- Coordinates the election process for the Parent Council Officers
- Maintains and updates the Elections binder, which provides complete instruction on implementing the above elections and documentation of each year’s elections

Library Committee
This committee works closely with the faculty to create and maintain the school library. The library is overseen by a faculty Chairperson, who will provide guidance on all book purchases and donations.
- Catalogs and shelves books
- Sponsors the Adopt-A-Book Program
- Maintains a wish list of books by grade
- Facilitates the annual Book Fair fundraiser at Lyon Books, with the Fundraising committee, faculty and students
- Maintains and updates the Library binder, which documents and tracks all library’s resources and needs- keeping records of all orders, donations and financials

Improvements Committee
This committee will design & implement any improvements and/or alterations to our school’s grounds, inside or outside, to continue to maintain and improve the school grounds to be congruent with our Waldorf values.
- Schedule and facilitate multiple Work Days throughout the year
- Maintains & update a School Grounds Improvements binder, which provides documentation of projects, i.e. drawings, photos, financials, etc.

Health & Wellness Committee
This committee aims to manage our school wide Wellness Policy, by educating our whole school community on the details of the policy & assisting with our school’s lunch program.
- Educating the parents by hosting at least 1 Parent Enrichment Evening
- Approving food for sale, ensuring that items meet our Wellness Policy and State Requirements for nutrition
- Organizes parent volunteers to assist with School Lunches

Harvest Festival Coordinator(s)
This person(s) oversees the production of the annual Harvest Festival. They are responsible for the overall production of the festival and for delegating tasks to the class representatives. They also work closely with admin. & faculty to ensure that the festivals are held in accordance with school polices and our Waldorf pedagogy.
