Admissions Policy

We are a free public Waldorf Methods charter school and shall be open to any resident in the state of California.  Students will be considered for admission without regard to ethnicity, national orgin, gender, family structure, or disability. If you are interested in attending our school, you may print out the admissions form from our website and turn it into the office at any time. Should there be openings in the desired class, we give you a call and we start the enrollment process.  It is a first come first serve policy. The actual enrollment process includes more paperwork than the admissions form and we need a copy of your child's birth certificate and shot records (or waiver). Once the paperwork is completed your child may start attending.

Kindergarten admission requires the same admissions form to be filled out and turned into the office, but is different than admissions to the grades. Kindergarten is always impacted to the degree that there are more applications than available seats. For this reason, we have a Kindergarten lottery during the second week in March each year.  Applications are first divided in the lottery by age.  We then have two lotteries, one for "older" children and one for "younger" children to fill two mixed-aged classrooms. It is assumed that most "older" children will attend for one year, while "younger" children typically attend two years of our Kindergarten program.

The State of California mandates that your child be at least 5 years old on or before December 2. If your child turns 5 prior to June 1 then they are considered "older" and if your child turns 5 between June 1 and December 2 they are considered "younger."

Please note: If you have an "older" child (Born between Dec 3 and May 31), you may enter the lottery one year earlier (when they are 4 years old) and they will be placed on a waitlist for the following year.

Preferences for Kindergarten Lottery include:

1. Children already enrolled (second year kindergarten students).

2. Children of staff, founding members, and board members.

3. Children who have siblings already enrolled.

4. Children on the waitlist from the prior year.

5. Everyone else with a completed admissions application.
