The Charter Council

The charter council works cooperatively with the faculty and director to make decisions regarding the well being of the school. The charter council guides and oversees the overall finances of the school in a financially responsible manner. Maintaining sound fiscal management creates a feeling of abundance, helping to hold the long-term vision of the school.

The charter council evaluates the director and decides on formal resolution of school conflicts (level 3). The charter council also gives final approval to all calendar, personnel, budget, and policy decisions for BOCS.

All members of the charter council are voted upon by the school community. The charter council consists of five members with two parent representatives and the balance of members drawn from the community at large. A representative from the school administration and faculty is present at all charter council meetings, but are not voting members.
